Dare
Who said music is only sonic? Sometimes it’s profoundly visual, made of colours, emotions, and shifting shades. Ripsime knows this intimately. In her latest EP, released under her label RIP Records and featuring the tracks “Dare,” “Colours of Your Eyes,” and “I’ll Understand”, she turns sound into a canvas, painting feelings with melodies instead of brushes. When emotions, especially love, move us, we instinctively try to give them shape. We search for a colour to match what we feel, something vibrant enough to explain how someone transformed our once black-and-white inner world. And let’s be honest: love mixed with a hint of heartbreak often fuels art even more. Ripsime captures precisely that delicate balance between longing and pain, the kind of emotional tension that demands to be expressed. Because when we’re torn, clarity becomes a necessity, and art often becomes the only language capable of revealing it. This dual need for expression emerges in both her sound and her visuals. For the covers of her songs, Ripsime painted colourful figures with closed eyes. They’re faces suspended in introspection. They feel like emotional self-portraits, iconic representations of all the things we sense but struggle to articulate.
