Zoo Friend

This might be the AUNCE’s most compelling track we’ve heard yet. It’s not just the concept, though the emotional and ecological undertow is powerful, it’s the sheer tactility of the sound design. Every texture feels hand-carved, every rhythm slightly unmoored, as if the track itself is gently resisting the structures we’re used to. “Zoo Friend” creates a space where connection with the non-human world is felt rather than declared. Grief and reverence drift together through sparse lyrics and shapeshifting vocal layers, holding tension without ever snapping to resolution. There’s protest here, but it’s quiet — a refusal to flatten meaning or offer easy answers. Instead, AUNCE opens a window onto something older, stranger, and more alive than we usually allow ourselves to notice.
